2010
Starting signal for a bold idea: On October 18, 2010 New Flag GmbH is founded by two students, Niki and Daniel, with the vision of bringing the cuddly blanket 'Knuffy' to the German market. The product enjoyed huge but short-lived success.
2011
New Flag plunges into the world of hair and beauty, collaborating soon with Tangle Teezer, Douglas and dm. Meanwhile, at a bad taste party, Sophie has the brilliant idea for a revolutionary hair. Together with Felix, invisibobble is born.
2012
invisibobble takes off, becoming a bestseller at renowned platforms such as Amazon and at hair dresser salons. A journey around the world's trade fairs begins.
2013
New Flag makes its first connection with Olaplex at a trade fair in the U.S., marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
2014
The Head of Sales of Olaplex shows interest in New Flag. By the end of the year, Olaplex as well as ColourWow are added to the distribution portfolio. Meanwhile, invisibobble launches at dm in Germany, selling 50,000 units in its first week.
2015
Following a successful roadshow for Olaplex, the starting signal for a new field sales team is given, growing soon to 20 employees.
2016
A new chapter begins with a move to a new office in Munich, the opeining of three subsidiaries in Benelux, France and the Chech Republic, and the addition of MariaNila to the distribution portfolio.
2017
The brand portfolio continues to grow, and invisibobble takes off with its first major influencer campaign featuring TikTok stars Lisa & Lena.
2018
New Flag's next own brand is launched, this time with the vision of a plastic free bathroom: Foamie! A new trend is born.
2019
New Flag opens its own huge warehouse, NewLand , in Reichertshofen, backed with a growing team to support our mission. Additionally, the brand UrbanAlchemy is launched, and the expansion continues with a new office in the U.S.
2020
Despite the challenge of Covid, it's a year to celebrate! The launch of the incubation brands team mark a new milestone, and Sophie publishes her book 100 Million Hair Ties and a Vodka Tonic, sharing the full story behind invisibobble.
2021
Another subsidiary is founded - a warm welcome to Poland! Additionally, the field sales team expands to reach and inspire even more hairdressers with our products.
2022
Growth continues across all countries and brands. New Flag records its strongest sales year yet and surpasses 300 employees for the first time.
2023
A transformative year for New Flag. After overcoming pandemic challenges, the focus shifted to strengthening operations, optimizing the supply chain, and driving beauty innovation. A major milestone is the transition from plastic to paper packaging for invisibobble, eliminating the equivalent of 12 million PET bottles' worth of plastic. Global expansion continues with the opening of the seventh subsidiary in Barcelona, strengthening the presence in the Iberian market.
2024
The year kicks off with the launch of two new in-house brands, NEQI and Wild Stripes. Sales exceed expectations, with NEQI products becoming a market sensation. Meanwhile, our distribution brands grow as we welcome Nails Inc and Living Proof to the portfolio.
